Accommodations

Fully Furnished Rooms

Accommodations feature fully furnished, single air-conditioned rooms, and weekly housekeeping service (linens are not included). Two multi-unit bathrooms are located on each floor.

We provide a 24-hour front desk service, controlled building access, and a building security system. There is no parking lot for residents, but street parking is available for residents who qualify for a D.C. parking permit.

Residents may use TMH common areas, which include a living room with a piano and fireplace, library, sitting room, garden, covered porch, and sun deck.

Room Description

Single rooms are 8′ wide by 15′ long, with at least one window and a large closet. Double rooms are like two single rooms without a wall separating them.

The bed is a regular twin size, for which we supply a blanket, bedspread, pillow, and mattress and box spring encasements. The other furnishings consist of a bedside table, small lamp, bookcase, desk with a chair, dresser with a mirror, and wastebasket. There is an overhead light and a table lamp.

Residents should bring a mattress pad, twin sheets, pillowcases, towels, an alarm clock, and a toiletry caddy to take items to the hall bathroom.  The room floor is tile, so you may want to bring a small rug to use beside the bed.  For a complete list of recommended items to bring, check out our TMH Packing List!

Pictures can be hung on the walls using poster putty or 3M Command Adhesive Strips.  Residents may bring a television, which will receive the local channels with a digital antenna; however, the rooms do not have cable hookups.  There is a large TV with digital cable and a DVD player in the community television room.

Please do not bring any type of kitchen appliance (i.e., refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, hot plate, etc.).  Hot and cold drinks are always available in the dining room, and we provide three refrigerators, a freezer, and two microwaves for residents to use.
